Sylvia has been seconded to BBC Watchdog as their Food Hygiene Consultant. Sylvia has worked initially on the first new programme which was aired on BBC1 in July 2017. This initial programme was all about the safety of the public from harmful bacteria whilst using public spaces/transport etc. This initial programme followed a 3-month investigatory process where Sylvia was the sole advisor on different types of bacteria found in different public places which may pose a risk to the public.
The BBC were specifically looking for an ‘exposé type’ programme and it required Sylvia to be up to speed in all the latest laboratory testing and analysis for the growth of harmful bacteria.
