In 2008 Sylvia was invited to be the Food Hygiene Expert on a television programme with ITV called ‘Dishing the Dirt’. Sylvia went undercover in the Dominican Republic investigating a thousand affected hotel guests suffering from Salmonella, E-coli, Campylobacter, and Shigella.
Following Sylvia’s investigation, Thomas Cook and First Choice were taken to court and fined over £5 million pounds due the fact that they didn’t put UK families’ safety first and were still sending families on holiday to the region that had been struck with this terrible food poisoning.
